What would you do if you were camping on an island beach with your boy scout troop and a huge earthquake woke you? What if a tsunami followed the quake and you were trapped against a cliff? What if a bully, and your least favorite person, was the only hope of rescue?
I had never really heard of this author before! He had a unique name and chose a very auspicious cover for the book! Part of the reason I chose to read this book was the author's name and the cover! Most people say not to judge a book by its cover so I obviously read the back first in order to make my decision (if I should read this novel or not!)I'm glad I chose this novel! Sometimes I wish I had put off a book longer so that I would have liked the other ones more! That is exactly what I wish I had done with this novel!I hope you take my advice and read this book!

Graham Salisburry really outdid himself in this fantastic, and suspenseful realistic fiction book. The main character Dylan and his boy scout troop travel to a active volcano for a camping trip. But, when there is an earthquake, a tsunami, and the volcano starts to erupt Dylan and his enemy have to put down there rivalry to go get help. I learned from this novel that sometimes you have to put down a rivalry to help others you care about.

Graham S. really outdid himself in this great novel. This book takes place in Honolulu,Hawaii it is told by Dylan when camping with his Boy Scout Troop theres an earthquake that destroys the camp and the only ones that can save the Troop are Dylan and Louie(Dylan's least favorite person in the world) in the end they all are saved by the coast guard.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this book. The start was a little dull, but it got interesting when they got to Halape and Dylan sees two dogs in the middle of nowhere. But the story unravels when they find Masa, who tells Dylan that the dogs are really a god, Pele, and her bodyguard. The book has lots of suspense and is well written.

This story was great!Troop 77 of Hilo, Hawaii visits the beautiful Island of Halape, Hawaii. Every thing is great until Dylan learns the secrets of the island. Earthquakes separate Troop 77 and Dylan must save them but with the person he least wants to do it with ... Louie Dimingo. The dogs have warned him, time is running out, and everyones' lives rest in his hands! Graham Salisbury was so descriptive and he left questions in my mind. Louie and Dylan always arguing really brought the story alive. Throughout the story I was always wondering why do the dogs keep appearing. So I kept flipping pages through this enthralling novel. If you want great entertainment, mind boggling cliffhangers and an amazing true story Graham Salisbury is the man!
